What is Camp Wiz + Kid?

Camp Wiz + Kid is an online educational and creative experience starting
June 22nd for kids entering 2nd through 7th grades.

Campers can select unlimited from over 30 hours of weekly programming.

We have 4-week, 6-week, and 8-week options, as well as per-class and drop-in availability.

CAMP WIZ + KID ACTIVITIES

Activities will run from Monday, June 22nd - Friday, August 14th in 4, 6, and 8-week sessions. Open Enrollment classes can be joined at anytime. Drop-In classes can be joined on a one-time basis. A Full Calendar can be viewed below.

YOGA

10-10:45am Monday, Wednesday, Friday

Kristine's yoga class is perfect for beginners! Campers will learn the fundamentals of a Vinyasa style flow. We will touch on a list of elements including vocabulary, poses (asanas), balance, strength, stretching, and safe alignment. Each class will focus on a “big picture” theme (courage, trust, hope), and campers will be encouraged to incorporate these positive ideas into their everyday lives off their mats.

HIP HOP

2:15-3pm Tuesday

Sarah's Hip Hop class will begin with a high-energy warm-up and conditioning to get everyone's heart rates going! Campers will learn a brand new fun, high-energy Hip Hop combination each week, building on their skills until they perform a fully-choreographed dance of their choice by the end of the summer.

CREATING CHOREOGRAPHY

1:15-2pm Tuesday & Thursday

In Ema's Creating Choreography class, campers will be introduced to the world of devised movement and choreography. We will explore each child’s movement qualities and creative impulses through group activities, games, and challenges. The class will culminate in a final presentation of the movement vocabulary created throughout the class.

MAKE ‘EM LAUGH (COMEDY)

2:15-3pm Wednesday & 1:15-2pm Friday

In Kayla's comedy class, campers will learn how to navigate the comedy of a scene, how comedy lies in physical and vocal choices, and how to inject their own brand of comedy into any monologue, scene or improv. Each class will have a whole lot of belly laughs, tapping into each camper's creativity, and allowing them to make big choices they normally would be discouraged to explore in everyday life. Topics range from improv games, to scene work, to partner exercises, to using props in your living room, and so much more. Kayla's classes are designed to foster a safe and fun space and really encourage campers to use their imagination and creativity to the fullest. All skill levels welcome.

A STAR IS BORN (Acting)

1:15-2pm Monday & Wednesday

In Kayla's acting class, campers will become confident in performing in front of others with poise, confidence, and panache. Campers will learn essential theater terminology along with a historical overview of the discipline of acting. In addition, campers will learn a variety of physical and vocal warm ups to assist in everything from auditions to live performances. Class topics will range from character development, to scene work, to improvisation, to audition training, to memorization techniques, as well as navigating acting in our technological age. Each class with Kayla is designed to strengthen campers' unique abilities, culminating in a mastery of acting methods that will prepare campers for any theatrical pursuit. All skill levels welcome.

PLAYWRITING

3:15-4pm Wednesday & Friday

Did you know that you can write a play using games? Emery's playwriting class is filled with writing games, teamwork, and a whole lot of fun that will culminate in a final play reading of your very own ten minute play! Campers will write their story and dialogue,cast actors of their choice, and hear their work read aloud at the end of our session. Imagination awaits!

All Ages

CREATIVE WRITING WORKSHOP

10-10:45am Tuesday & Thursday

Does your child love to explore their imagination through writing? Lizz's Creative Writing class is made just for them! During this 6-week program, campers will be immersed in a series of challenging, hands-on activities that will introduce them to brand new genres within creative writing and expand their technical skills. The class will culminate in each camper conceiving, writing, editing, and sharing a story of their choosing!

Age 10-13

SONGWRITING

1:15-2pm Tuesday & Thursday

In Jaime's songwriting class, campers will learn about the basic elements of songwriting through games, writing exercises, and the exploration of existing music. The activities of each week guide campers step by step through learning to write lyrics and music, follow song structures, and brainstorm for inspiration. Campers will get to collaboratively write music and lyrics with the class, as well as work on material individually, culminating in an EP (a collection of songs) created by the class.

GUITAR

Beginner ○ 11-11:45am Tuesday & Thursday

Grab your guitars and let’s get rockin’! In Kristen’s Beginner guitar class, musicians will learn the fundamentals of the guitar. With short, recognizable tunes, we will learn to play individual notes and how to read music. We’ll also learn basic chords and master strumming patterns while practicing songs from the Beatles to the Black Eyed Peas, Lynyrd Skynyrd to Ben E King.

All Ages

SING OUT! (Voice)

12:15-1pm Monday & Wednesday

In Robert's voice class, campers of all ages will learn the fundamentals of using their voice to sing in a fun and healthy way. Each week, we'll explore a different style of singing by learning about our favorite genres and artists. Campers will learn to confidently share their vocal talents with their peers and give constructive feedback, and the class will culminate in the creation of an in-home music video for a song of each camper's choice.

ORIGA-ME!

3:15-4pm Thursday

In Origa-ME!, Mariela will guide campers of all ages through 8 weeks of increasingly intricate origami designs. By the end of the class, campers will know how to build puppies, stars, cranes, balloons, flowers, and more. More importantly, campers will gain a newfound appreciation for the simple piece of paper and the immense creativity it can inspire!

INKTASTIC! (Comics)

2:15-3pm Thursday & 12:15-1pm Friday

In INKtastic, campers will learn about creating comics from beginning to end: from storyboarding to character creation, Mariela's students will become master comic-makers! Mariela's approach helps campers find their unique voice and illustration style, encourages them to take artistic risks, and emphasizes attention to detail. By the end of the course, campers will have a complete, multi-page comic of their own to share and display!

GOLD MINING

2:15-3pm Friday

Every Friday afternoon, Wiz + Kid’s very own Founder, Jared Sais, will take campers along (virtually) as he pans for gold. Campers will learn about the process of panning, the science and geology behind it, and at the end of the summer, each camper will receive their very own golden nugget in the mail!
